Denise Brink Update 3/24

Boy do I miss you guys!  I look at your pictures and it makes my heart hurt.  But we are doing good stuff here.  Initially I was a little upset because it didn’t seem like we were really seeing people that needed to be seen.  But then we learned than almost all of these people NEVER see a doctor and it is a priveledge to be seen.  They present themselves in their best clothing and take special care to clean themselves before coming.  I had a 99 year old lady come today and it took her 2 hours to walk here… not because she lived far away but because she was 99 and just couldn’t walk very fast.  Another man, 77 year old, came in today and c/o bad vision and said he was a farmer and couldn’t find his farm.  The interpetor and I just laughed… I told him he needed to retire!  He also had a lady friend “up the hill” that needed some money.  We obliged.  One US dollar goes along way here.  We did see some sick kids today and actually started IV’s.  In 2 1/2 days of clinic we’ve seen about 600 people.  It’s busy but then we have the evenings free. I  am getting ready to go “shower.”   Anyway-  we’re all doing great so far. I hope you guys are doing well and I will probably call you tomorrow!  I miss you guys SO MUCH!  Six more sleeps!  XOXOXOXOXO

It’s so great to see these updates. Praying for your group, and for the people in Haiti. I can’t even imagine not having the means to feed my child – heartbreaking.

    Hi Denise,
This is DeLynn’s mom, Dee. I can’t tell you how much my heart swells with what God’s angels are doing for the poorest of the poor!. You are an angel disguised as a nurse to do God’s will. I pray many, many blessings on you and your team as you work for the kingdom here on earth. I will pray for you every day and ask God to give you energy, strength, compassion, the right words at the right time, and give you sights that become stories to further encourage other angels who will follow in your foot steps. God Bless you Denise!!! You are an awesome angel!
